Welcome to Nepal Bar Association

The Nepal Bar Association (NBA) was founded in 1956 during the early stages of legal education in Nepal. Initially consisting mainly of traditional practitioners, NBA evolved with the emergence of formally educated lawyers. In 1963, it gained formal recognition from the Government of Nepal. NBA's advocacy also led to legislative reforms, including the Nepal Bar Council Act of 1993, which further solidified its role. Today, NBA is the leading organization representing lawyers in Nepal, with a Central Executive Committee elected through direct voting and 90 units across the country, ensuring comprehensive representation in the legal landscape.
