Nepal Bar Association is preparing with its international engagement when legal professionals worldwide are marking their calendars for a series of significant international events scheduled for the upcoming year. High-level summits in Japan, Vietnam, India, and Canada will convene legal experts to address pressing issues in data protection, regional transactions, the rule of law, and international business. “Data Protection Laws on the Move in the Asia-Pacific Region”
Focusing on a critical challenge of the digital age, LAWASIA will hold a Data Protection Workshop in Tokyo, Japan, from August 29-30, 2025. With the theme “Data Protection Laws on the Move in the Asia-Pacific Region,” the workshop will explore the complexities of cross-border data transfers and the influence of EU-style data protection regulations in the diverse legal landscapes of the Asia-Pacific.
This collaborative event with the Institute of Comparative Law in Japan at Chuo University, and sponsored by the Japan Federation of Bar Associations, will provide a platform for legal practitioners to share insights on the rapid evolution of data protection law. The agenda will also feature discussions on emerging technologies like neurotechnology, AI, and robotics and their intersection with data protection.

The Bar Association of India will host the second edition of the New Delhi International Rule of Law Convention from August 30-31, 2025. The convention will focus on “International Economic Rule of Law from the point of view of challenges and aspirations of the Global South.”
Continuing the initiative from the inaugural 2023 convention, this event aims to solidify New Delhi’s position as a center for international discussions on the rule of law. A significant feature of the 2025 convention will be the New Delhi Rule of Law General Assembly, which will deliberate and pass resolutions to represent the global rule of law community.
